It means that if your friend are trying to make you do something that isn’t correct, you should choose the right decision. Even if you are the only one opposing the thing that is bad, you are doing the right for yourself. Also by choosing the correct decision, you encourage others to do the same. An example would be your friends trying  to persuade you to do something bad like trying drugs. You know that if you don’t go  along with them, they will call you a coward. Though if you do, the drugs will ruin your life. So you say no, and you leave, and another friend also decides to go the right path. See if you do right things, you will encourage the good, not the bad. Also, if you do the good, you aren’t gonna suffer from the consequences of a bad choice.
